PINKY PAGANO
Pinky Pagano (Special Contributor). Treasured Advisor - The Woman of Many
Hats. Pinky worked in various front office capacities with the Sisters School
District from 1988 until her retirement in 2014. During her more than 25 years,
Pinky guided, inspired, cajoled, captivated, energized, and motivated thousands of
students, teachers, athletic directors, principals, vice-principals, and coaches. She
was a necessary conduit between parents and school administrators and teachers
when most needed. She was instrumental in the re-opening of Sisters High School
in 1992, and the smooth transition to the new high school in 2003. Her myriad of
duties including scheduling, accommodations, OSAA reporting, referee
coordination, fundraising, senior nights, programs, assisting the band, choir, and
drama programs, and generally taking the reigns when something was needed to
get it done. Her counseling skills were second to none, and the joy she found in
seeing her thousands of students succeed was profound. When SHS won the
Oregon Cup for the 2011-2012 school year (recognizing overall excellence by
Oregon schools in academics, activities, and athletics), it was due in no small part
to Pinky’s efforts.
